North Rose Hill Woodlands Park located on 124th Avenue will peak your curiosity when you drive down this popular thorough-fare. The immense playground was designed by children and built with the help of many volunteers. This incredible play space offers thematic climbers including a castle, tree fort, train, and rocket. There is a walk-on chess area surrounded by chess tables and amphitheater seating. A tot-lot incorporates features for those up to age 5 and large swings and tire swing offer fun for the older kids. There is no parking on 124th Avenue, visitors may park along NE 100th Street or in the Fire Station parking lot. A second tot-lot, fully fenced, is located on the east end of the property just off 128th Avenue NE.
Visitors will also find a wonderful mix of natural meadows, wetlands, and forested areas threaded through with pathways, boardwalks, and interpretive displays. Plenty of benches line the paths and offer guests a nice place to rest and enjoy the natural splendors of the park. The wetlands attract creatures of all kinds, although birds are the most common to be seen. Migrating birds (such as the Tree Swallow, Marsh Wren, and Chickadee) can be seen in the wetlands during the spring and fall. Another creature that can often be seen is the Pacific Shrew.
This park allows gas fired barbeques and the picnic shelter makes for a perfect place to have a large gathering. Please call for more information.
